PERSONALITY
▶ At first meeting, Haruo appears to be a nervous wreck and is soft-spoken. If you're nice to him, or if he feels he can trust you he'll begin to warm up to you quickly. He's optimistic, and appears to be quite childish and naive due to his silly and joking behaviour however he is. He's really clingy with his friends and hates when they can't hang out with him because he gets bored really easily. His violin is his most prized possession and if you even mention his violin to him he'll probably cling to his violin for a month to make sure no one goes near it. He's very intelligent, what you would most likely think at first glance, rather than after you've gotten to know him. He's an airhead, but does enjoy making snide remarks whenever he can.

BACKSTORY
▶ Haruo was born to a rich couple composed of two passionate musicians in Japan. His mother was a popular musician who played traditional Japanese instruments, and his father was a popular classical musician. He lived in a big house in the country, and was home schooled. His parents only rarely took him out of the house, due to his poor health as a child. He was practically isolated expect for the occasional visits his aunt, uncle and cousin would make (However, his cousin was a spoiled brat and she was pretty much anti-social as well so he didn't spend much time with her.~~three guesses who his cousin is chokes~~).

The only thing Haruo really liked doing was playing instruments. When Haruo showed interest in an instrument, his parents would teach him how to play. Haruo would quickly give up on many instruments because of frustration (and because he was little and couldn't understand). However, the only instrument Haruo never gave up on, at least once, was the violin, one of the instruments that had caught his attention quite quickly. Haruo eventually learned to decently play most instruments in his possession, with the violin and flute being his favourites (and the ones he played best).

However, instruments could not fix the feeling of loneliness Haruo had due to living his life in practical isolation. His parents noticed this, and decided they'd try sending him to a music or arts school. Knowing a wide variety of schools, his parents couldn't seem to decide on one, until they came across Hoshino Gakuen. It was a popular school, not restricted to arts, but simply talented students of all areas. Haruo quickly took a liking to the idea of being able to meet and study along many talented kids around his age, and set his mind on going there.
